For various reasons, our membership e-mail list became a jumble again. We think we have it straightened out and want to keep it that way. So we are simplifying the tasks, reducing the # of lists, making our volunteer officers happier, and with any luck all will be OK with you, our members.

Bear Creek Council will maintain TWO lists:

  1. Master Bear Creek Council membership list. (See below.)
  2. Prospective member list, gathered from our public event sign-in sheets. Mike Tercek will maintain.

Bear Creek Committee Chairs can create lists for committees, but you have to maintain it yourself. Try to keep your list current, and let the Treasurer know of any problems.

Lists we are discontinuing:

  1. We will not keep a separate “private” list—a Bear Creek member is also a member of Northern Plains, and you will receive some emails from Northern Plains. We had only two people request this service anyway, so this is not a big change.
  2. We will no longer keep separate lists of local or out-of-town members. If you are a member of Bear Creek, you get all the emails.

Sharing our member list:

If another group (other than NPRC) asks to use our list, we will discuss the request with the membership first. Generally, we do NOT send our mailing list to anyone. If we agree a group can contact our members, we request they send the mailing to us and we will send out; or we print labels and give to the other group.

ABOUT THE MASTER LIST

Jim Sweaney, as Treasurer, is the keeper of the master Bear Creek Council membership list. All members listed on the BCC list are on the NPRC list; NPRC list has only one email per membership. The Bear Creek list can include two emails per membership. Jim includes other member information on his master list, including donations, other emails, etc. Send all your contact updates,, including email addresses, to Jim. (See newsletter for his contact info.)
